The gravity of concussions are gaining traction in the sports world and the medical community. The CDC estimates that there are over 2 million concussions per year in the US. Despite the uptick in awareness and prevalence, many people with concussions are left with prolonged symptoms and little support. This blog is my concussion story. Going from a full-time medical student to sitting on my parents’ couch full-time has been a major life adjustment. I hope this blog sheds light on the seriousness of a “mild” traumatic brain injury, and brings hope to anyone who may be experiencing brain injury themselves.
